December 2015

The lights are up, the store windows are trimmed, and there’s a chill in the air! The Holiday Season is upon us! This weekend officially starts the Holiday Season here in Jamestown and the Chamber is delighted to let you know all about what’s happening!
First the Chamber is selling “Chamber Checks” this Saturday at a 10% discount! That’s right, purchase $50 in Chamber Checks and pay only $45!
These checks can be redeemed in most of our member businesses and they make great gifts as well! Check out the link above to find out all about how they work and where they can be redeemed and use them to get your Holiday Shopping “to do” list all checked off!
Next, Santa and Mrs. Clause will arrive in Jamestown via ferry on Saturday, December 5th at 1:00pm! Join Santa for pictures at the Conanicut Marine Store and then perhaps a hayride up Narragansett Avenue? Stop by all of our local stores and restaurants to see what they have in store for the Holidays and use those Chamber Checks!
Click on the “Stroll” link at the top of this post and use it as your map to all the happenings this Saturday. There are book sales at the Library, a Craft Fair at the school, various Church Fairs and of course all our member businesses will have special offerings to kick off the Holiday Season!
The day will end with our Christmas Tree Lighting at 5:30pm in East Ferry–a perfect end to a great day!
Next weekend Beavertail Lighthouse will hold an open house and there will be a Holiday Craft Marketplace at the Jamestown Arts Center. On Sunday the 13th the Quononoquott Garden Club will be holding a Candlelight Tour of four village homes (tickets available at Baker’s Pharmacy and the Secret Garden) so there is a lot to do to get in the spirit!
The Chamber of Commerce Board will be holding their Holiday Open House of Thursday December 10th at J22 from 6pm-9pm, if you plan on attending please RSVP to :
The Jamestown Chamber of Commerce wishes all their members and all the residents of Jamestown a Happy and Healthy Holiday Season! And we look forward to working together in 2016! Remember this Holiday Season to “Buy Local, Buy Jamestown!”
