July 2016

July is shaping up to be a great month in Jamestown. The moorings and docks around the Island are filling with the boats of Jamestown year-round and summer residents, vacationers, and day visitors. If you want to avoid the summer traffic on the roads in order to get between Jamestown and Newport check out the Jamestown-Newport ferry service.

The Jamestown 4th of July fireworks display will be held on July 3rd at 9:00 P.M. Live music by the Becky Chase Band will start 7:00 p.m. and the Jamestown Community Band at 8:00 p.m., both performances to occur at the East Ferry Memorial Square. The Jamestown Chamber of Commerce would like to thank the Rocket Hogs for their time and effort in preparing this event and local residents for their donations to make this year’s fireworks display.

For information about Jamestown and our members, please consult this website as well as our informational brochure stand at the Conanicut Marine store located at 20 Narragansett Avenue. If you have additional questions please feel free to contact us at info@jamestownrichamber.com .

Our next event is a Business After Hours to be co-hosted with the Newport Chamber of Commerce and is scheduled for Thursday, July 28th at the Jamestown Arts Center located at 18 Valley Street in Jamestown. This will be a great evening of networking with members of both the Jamestown and Newport Chambers of Commerce.

Be sure to mark your calendars for the annual Night At Fort Getty event which is scheduled for Saturday, August 20th from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This event will feature music by Brass Attack. Stay tuned for more information and ticketing information. If you would like to participate or support the event there are many options available including the opportunity to become a sponsor or to purchase a banner to showcase your business. These banners will be hung at Ft. Getty during the event and will then be yours after the event to keep for your various business needs. The Chamber is also seeking donations for the raffle portion of the event. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit a local non-profit, as well as the Chamber. If you are interested in supporting the event, or would like more information, please contact the Chamber at info@jamestownrichamber.com

Happy Summer!
